Pros
Momentum has multiple locations, so I can't speak for all of them, but at the site where I work, the team has been incredibly welcoming and supportive especially for new grads like me. I truly appreciate my fellow nurses and my manager for looking out for me as I navigate my first nursing job. Having done my clinicals in SNFs during nursing school, this place feels like a breath of fresh air. There's no pressure to work overtime, and best of all, we're unionized. If you value your well-being, working in a unionized workplace makes a huge difference.
Cons
Workplace drama exists, just like in many other places, and avoiding it can be challenging. If you're fortunate enough to stay out of it, that’s great, but not everyone has that privilege. Working with psych patients can also be unpredictable and difficult, but that’s part of healthcare. The pay for new grads is decent, though it could be better (just saying this because of the current inflation). That said, when you compare the workload here to places like nursing homes, this job is definitely the better option.
