Pros

* The customer base is generally friendly and enjoyable to interact with. As with any retail environment, you'll occasionally encounter some quirky or challenging customers, but that's simply part of the industry. * The coworkers I worked alongside were, for the most part, welcoming, supportive, and made the workday enjoyable. * The employee discount was decent, and the company offered additional discounts for OLCC permit holders, veterans, seniors, and other qualifying groups. * Employees occasionally receive invitations to cannabis industry events and vendor showcases, which can be a fun opportunity to learn about new products and network within the industry. * Product samples are periodically provided by vendors when available, giving staff the opportunity to become more knowledgeable about the products they sell.

Cons

* Compensation is below what many comparable employers in the area offer. * Our store had a staff of only about seven employees, leaving very little flexibility for scheduling, vacation coverage, illness, or unexpected absences. * Training relies heavily on YouTube videos and informal resources rather than a structured onboarding program. * Pricing, promotions, and product deals do not always appear competitive with the local market. * Management could benefit from being more aware of interpersonal issues and workplace morale before they escalate. * Employees are not always encouraged—or expected—to communicate concerns or fully embrace the responsibilities of their roles. * There appears to be a lack of accountability regarding professionalism and respect between employees and leadership. * Personal conflicts are sometimes brought into the workplace, creating unnecessary tension among staff. * Advancement opportunities are limited, with little opportunity for career growth. * Technology, security practices, and internal systems are outdated and would benefit from modernization to better protect company assets and improve operational efficiency.
