Pros

- You get a free trip to India, and are able to travel and see the world. - Most of the clients are large Fortune 500 companies

Cons

- The company truly does not care about it's employees. Any advice/feedback from employees is ignored. Because of this, there is an extremely high turnover rate (more than 100% on some accounts). - The "training" that is done in India is very unorganized and largely ineffective. You only get 1 week to learn each programming languages (SAS, SQL, and R) with little to no help from the company. Most of the learning is done by looking things up on google. - As I mentioned earlier, the turnover is extremely high, both for American and Indian employees. This makes it so there are constantly new, inexperienced people working on projects, leading to a lot of errors. Another result of the high turnover is that employees who stay will be stretched very very thin. - Although you get to work with well respected companies, a lot of the times the projects are repetitive tasks that don't require a lot of business skills. From my experience, it seems as the clients view Mu Sigma as a low cost way of outsourcing repetitive, labor intensive projects. - You will get no say in what account you get put on. Even if you have certain skills or a passion for a certain company/industry, Mu Sigma will not take that into account when assigning you to a project. - Mu Sigma believes in "Work Life Harmony", aka your life is work. You will typically spend 9-10 hours a day in the office (even if you finish your work early, Mu Sigma is big on "face time"), plus an additional 1-2 hours for daily calls with the offshore team. The daily calls are typically at around 7 am and 8-9:00 pm. So from the time you wake up to the time to go to sleep, you are never done working. Also be prepared to have random Mu Sigma meetings that can run from 6 pm to 11 pm. Mu Sigma does not care about your time. - Because of the extremely high turnover rate, there are always people being transitioned into new roles, whether it be new employees or employees who have been with the company. During these transitions, you will get almost no help from management. Most of the time you will not know exactly what your roles and responsibilities are until a client asks you why you didn't do something. - Performance is not rewarded. It doesn't matter whether you excel in everything you do and provide top quality deliverables to the client, or you put in a minimal amount of work. You will be treated the same way. My advice to anyone thinking about joining Mu Sigma would be to look for a different company. If you're interested in learning programming languages, do them on your own time, that's essentially what you would do at Mu Sigma anyway.

Pros

You get global and US experience

Cons

It's not worth to stay so long in Mu Sigma anymore. It's not what it used to be, good leaders have left and there is nobody to learn from. Mu Sigma is living in the past, and every other competitor has moved on.
