Pros

When I first arrived at MED, it was the best place to work in the Eyecare business. It is now one of the worst. They sold their soul to expand and now they treat you like a number on a spreadsheet instead of a human being.

Cons

-Management lying to employees -Forcing employees to lie to customers (despite what the replies to virtually every review tries to refute. Smoke without fire much?) -Price Fixing -HIPAA violations -Insurance Fraud -Discrimination/Sexual Harassment -Verbal abuse from managment (so more about the replies from other reviews: The first person they call when you make a complaint is literally the person you are complaining about. They make no effort to protect you from that person). -Unprofessionalism -Excessive Irrelevant training/Not enough relevant training -The only way you can advance is through cronyism. Some of the most unqualified people end up running their stores and patients suffer because of it. Pretty much, if this company was to ever get seriously investigated, the people running it would go to prison for a long time.

Pros

The office environment was pleasant, and the stocked snacks and beverages were genuinely appreciated. A few colleagues were supportive and tried to help where they could. The company is expanding, which may appeal to individuals who enjoy rapid change and ambiguity.

Cons

The culture is still evolving, and expectations around “fit” can feel subjective rather than grounded in clear, consistent criteria. Priorities shift frequently, sometimes without enough context for employees to understand the reasoning or how to adjust their work accordingly. Communication from leadership varies by team, and it can be challenging to get clarity on decision‑making or long‑term direction. Feedback mechanisms are limited, and employees may struggle to understand how their performance or contributions are being evaluated.
