Pros

-Help student athletes obtain scholarships and play sports in college -Educate families on recruiting -Talk about sports -Work from home -Solid commission if you're prepared to grind it out 6-7 days a week on nights and weekends -Product really does help student-athletes better their opportunities to play in college

Cons

-Unrealistic sales goals -Head scouts are encouraged to focus on "work/life balance" but the unrealistic sales goals make it impossible to take any time off -Quality of network of student athletes is diminished due to increased sales goals i.e. Head Scouts are pushed so hard to hit goals they will sign up almost anyone -No base pay, 100% commission (Head Scouts were misled by Senior Management on this issue. We were told, face to face, by Senior Management that we would be receiving a base salary in 2013 but it never happened) -No monetary performance-based bonuses. Used to provide monetary performance-based bonuses but no longer do so. The most recent bonus given to a top performer was "a night on the town" with a member of Senior Management. -Senior Management made it crystal clear that they are not worried about losing top talent as there is always someone else to replace them -Senior Management makes business decisions without consulting people who are on the front lines actually doing the job every day -Senior Management makes business decisions without thinking of contingency or back-up plans, have never "Hoped for the best, prepared for the worst." -Decisions are regularly made that serve to benefit a small faction of top Senior Management with no regard for those it will affect in a negative way -Most promotions occur within a small faction of Senior Management who have the longest tenure -Fake words are created to promote company values

Pros

The people are the secret sauce of NCSA - it's a great team that wants win, innovate, and grow together. Lots of opportunities to provide feedback and connect with leadership.

Cons

The work can be challenging and very demanding.

Pros

- Work from home - Get to talk about sports every day, and getting to learn about new sports - Manager was awesome, but I may have been lucky - I heard bad things about other managers! - There are about 10 teams of Recruiting Coordinators, all performing the same role, and each team being managed differently. Not sure if this is a pro or con

Cons

- Making around 100 calls/day - Leads are technically not cold, but they might as well be - lots of families didn't realize what they were signing up for - Over half of the leads in my funnel every day were recycled, i.e. we have called them in the past and they were not interested. Sometimes leads were recycled upwards of 10 times - Making phone calls from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm local time - often calling families at 7 -8 pm their time - Will likely be flagged if you go more than 20 minutes without making a call unless communicating with your manager
