Pros
I have been with NCSA for much longer than most and there have always been 3 reasons I remained with the organization: 1) The People - I get to work with people I actually enjoy and that is not always the case professionally. 2) What We Do - The ability to work in sports, truly help other people and be part of a growing organization is a very unique experience and one that I don't take for granted personally. 3) The Opportunities - Despite the experience of others on this site, there are in fact opportunities at NCSA to be involved in the inner workings of a rapidly growing and meaningful business above and beyond those available at other companies.
Cons
NCSA engenders a passion like few other places of "employment". Because of the work that we do and the sincere desire of those involved to be successful, this passion typically elicits extreme emotions. Unfortunately, for some past and current employees, there can be a feeling that expectations have not been met or there has been a failure to advance in their career at the rate at which they hoped. When you couple that emotion with the passion to succeed, it can cause an extreme reaction that would never have happened at another place of "employment" because those places never generated the passion that NCSA can and does. This feeling is the main reason you might see negative feedback on sites like this but understand it stems from a good place on behalf of the former employee and NCSA.
