Pros

You have employment for the time being.

Cons

As you start your journey as an employee at National you have high hopes of being a part of something great. At least that is what they sell you during the interview process, but as you begin to settle in your role you start to see red flags. And every company has their fair share of typical cons, but at National you do not immediately understand where the dysfunction comes from but you see it in every department. The turnover rates at National are alarming. Many employees quit but most employees are bullied by management till they make is so the employee quits on their own or they start a confidential search while the employee is still employed then once they find a replacement candidate they find a reason to fire the current employee. There isn't any employee development or internal hiring processes encouraged. The culture is to hire external. The company doesn’t invest in their employees because they do not care to. Many of the facilities do not have proper office space, equipment, or even working equipment, or staff to fully run the facilities. They do not have tuition reimbursement at many of the facilities and corporate office. And that is a red-flag for anyone looking to grown in their career. The company is run by a private owner whose only concern is his family owned business making money, hence no employee development established in the company. The host separate holiday parties every year. One of the holiday parties is invite only to the Foxwoods casino and a skiing trip. The other holiday party is for the rest of employees not invited to the Foxwoods party, which is held at a diner. The companies atmosphere is very divided and it is felt amongst all employees. There are also a lot of protected employees that are deplorable in demeanor with very poor professionalism that are allowed to continue to work there and torture other employees. If they do not like an employee for whatever the reason, the employee who is targeted days of employment are numbered. It’s just simply a toxic work environment. I caution anyone to work at this company. If you do accept a job here, just use it a temporary acceptance until you find a company that cares about the well-being of their employees with ethical and professional standards.

Pros

absolutely excellent at false advertising!

Cons

NOBODY- from administration ALL THE WAY UP the chain has any idea what they are doing. It's actually pretty pathetic and the entire company should be ashamed and embarrassed by those they place in positions to represent them. Do not put your loved ones in their facilities, and do not waste your time, energy or skills working for them.
