Pros

You get to work with kids

Cons

Everything else - you're constantly treated like crap by management, the nurses, and the parents - worst health insurance of any healthcare facility I've worked at - managers don't have a clue how to manage - my manager actually said in a staff meeting, "I don't have time to put on scrubs to come in and find out what you do." She automatically sides with the nurses on everything, even when there's clear evidence that the nurses are wrong. - RNs get hired directly out of nursing school for ICU areas and are inadequately trained to work there - some of them don't even bother to chart correctly for patients - if you work in a clinical area, you will work with some really wonderful, intelligent nurses, but most of them are just rude and stupid. There are RNs here I would never allow near anyone I care about - there is an unbelievably high level of turnover, but no one bothers to consider that it could be the managers so it's never addressed or solved; Walmart may actually have a lower level of turnover than the NICU.
