Pros

- Senior leadership has great reputation in the academic community - Huge emphasis on good outcomes for patients with a variety of medical conditions - Cutting edge technologies are used on a daily basis

Cons

- Middle/lower management is completely ineffective and does not care about staff level employees (lab techs, support staff) - Non-innovative work environment with no flexibility. Employee clock-in/out monitored to the minute - Lab staff are treated like children and monitored closely - Inconsistent enforcement of rules. Merit raises are completely subjective and reduced with little to no explanation or evidence - Money is spent freely to accommodate comfort of upper management. Staff often do not have the tools they need for their jobs - No advancement opportunities, No pay increases besides average annual merit raise ~2%. Employee has to provide his/her own evidence to support merit raise.

Pros

The hospital saves lives by working miracles for sick children and is a top Pediatric hospital in the nation. It is expanding and becoming more and more research-oriented, and the children and families receive exceptional care.

Cons

- Pay isn't very competitive - If you are NOT applying for a clinical or patient-facing position, watch out! The business and Administrative areas of the hospital are full of TOXIC, NASTY people who have been trained to be that way from the top down. If you are thinking about a job in DRC, don't even apply unless you want to join up with a "witch and her flying monkeys". That area is a joke.

Pros

you can use your badge to get food in the cafeteria.

Cons

using your badge comes off your check, regardless if you go to school or degree, if you dont know someone your not going to be able to move around. Some departments are so unbearable to work in. and human resources doesnt have your back. at the end of the day if you dont know someone your not getting in or moving around. And I hate to say this but black people really arent moving around. if you get in your stuck in that position forever.
