Pros
You make long-term relationships with your peers, just like soldiers on the battlefield!
Cons
The company is horrible (several mass firing occurrences and consistent lies), the management is horrible (it was all about who you know, not your experience. You could be a manager at a car rental company and then suddenly know publishing! If you fished, golfed, played cards with or partied together on the weekends you were in!) The compensation continually declined (bonuses cut, commissions cut, always asking more and more for less and less). Decades long employees given no regard for the 10, 15, 20+ years they devoted to the company (the very reps that built it)! Sales reps blamed for product failure when it was the "lack of" management skill and experience and diversity of approach that failed (failure to recognize something different needed to be done). Unrealistic sales goals for insufficient, inadequate and weak sales territory (you were told to oversell an already worn out and abused lead system). ALL of the top tier, top performing sales reps are GONE today! Says it all! Leaving this company was the the BEST decision of my life!
