Pros

Paycheck has not bounced. We have a lot of idle time to be with freinds and family because there is not much work to do. Everyone seems to be waiting for the next lay-off, and this slow pace of work is very satisfying.

Cons

Environment is tough, as everyone is on edge that they will be the next one to be laid off and this leads to backstabbing. If you are an older worker, and not at the Director level, you will be laid off in the next round. In the last round, the stronger workers were let go as management feared that they would replace them at a lower wage. Resignations are rampant, all of the talent is leaving in fear of job security. In California, housing is so expensive that a person needs a stable job to pay the mortgage and netApp can not provide the stability. Customer's should be worried as they made a sizable investment in NetApp technology and now the people who developed these products have resigned / laid off. How can you expect them to migrate to NetApp's cloud (which is expensive) when the company is failing. A note to all recruiters, every coworker that I know wants to leave netapp, even for 20% less pay. Please do not considered a laid-off NetApp employee as a weak employee - they are actually the stronger ones that the weaker managers feared.

Pros

NetApp is a prestigious company, working for this company will be a great resume boost if you cannot break into top fortune 500 companies. Relatively easy to get into NetApp. Competitive pay.

Cons

Frequent layoffs. Understaffed which could equate to higher expected output.

Pros

- Not the worst pay around - Opportunity for advancement if you get the right management - Good financial benefits (ESPP, 401k options, mega backdoor Roth) - The one thing GK is good at is driving up the company stock price. Hope you got yourself some RSUs

Cons

- NetApp hasn't made a new product in 10 years, so you'll be hard pressed to find development work that isn't directly tied to supporting what was built before then. - Very little innovation other than weekend-project-level AI tools - Health and dental benefits are not great - Upper management is completely detached from reality
