I learned a lot working here -- it was my first real job out of college and I am extremely grateful to have been surrounded by such smart, independent-minded people.

Cons

You have to really sell yourself as someone who is interesting and valuable in order to get recognized. And don't be afraid to ask for more -- more money, faster growth, more responsibility.

Experience as an employee is very dependent on host program/lab. Org structure supports policy, advocacy, and academic writers. No major top-down limitations which allows for depth of work across program areas (education, technology, benefits, etc).

Cons

Not great support from central comms for crisis communications.
