Pros
NextGen is a large company with a solid (but dwindling) customer base. They have average to good compensation and their benefits package is improving. The entire upper management team has been turned over within the last year. There is a lot more communication, even if that doesn't always agree with their actions. There is hope that they can turn this around and produce better software.
Cons
2 layoffs within the last 6 months - one of which had a stated goal of 5% reduction. Raises were capped or eliminated and the performance review system is getting harsh. People are less hopeful than fearful and it's affecting the culture and the outputs. The basic problem is that the main products are old & can't seem to be modernized without losing important qualities customers like about them. People are leaving ASAP.
