Pros

I worked for Norton Healthcare in very different departments, and the only positive attributes are training their employees and offering continuing educational opportunities. For the most part, the staff is great and communicates well between disciplines and departments.

Cons

Where do I start: -As I mentioned, the staff on a whole is great and communicates well between disciplines and departments. However, this does NOT include management or HR, which is about the WORST I have ever encountered. I have had managers who were non-existent and relied on "spies" to give them information about the department where they should have been a constant presence. I never had a manager or HR representative who took complaints from staff seriously, unless it was from one of the spies or if it meant bad publicity for the hospital. This includes a collective report from my co-workers after being met with verbal and psychological abuse from a manager, which was met with silence from HR and upper management after repeated attempts to report the abuse. -Norton Healthcare spends a lot of time and money on public relations creating a pretty picture in the guise of being faith-based, ethical, caring, and concerned about their employees and patients.
