Pros

I met a handful of talented, smart people that I get to call friends now. Generous parental leave policy, other benefits are average at best. Base and RSU compensation was generous - but the hiring manager who approved the offer has since left, so I'm not sure if this is still the case or not.

Cons

- Abusive CEO. The CEO, who has no other leadership experience, is abusive to the entire team and lacks any ability to effectively delegate. He demands multiple weekly meetings with people two-to-three levels below him, during which he berates and belittles anyone and everyone on the call. These meetings are a disrespectful waste of everyone's time and talent. This sets the tone for the rest of the org. I don't think I've ever met someone that I respect less. - Unqualified, toxic Marketing leadership team. With the exception of one leader, the entire Marketing leadership team is a sham. The majority of the MLT has spent most of their careers at ON24, meaning they lack any diversity in background and experience. The MLT rotates between direct aggression and passive aggression depending on the day. They routinely and openly belittle other leaders, both inside and outside of the marketing org, and rely on ultimate control to (micro)manage their teams. Rather than offer coaching and development to their teams, they take over projects and "do it themselves" to get it "right," leaving their very qualified teams to sit around twiddling their thumbs. This lack of respect and emotional regulation trickles down to the rest of the Marketing team as well as the vendors they hire These behavior are often excused as "oh that's just XYZ leader ..." and the advice that is often given is to just "yell back at them." A shockingly dysfunctional environment. - Subpar product. Webcast Elite is a solid webinar product, but the rest of the product suite is subpar and has no future. As a marketer, I wouldn't use any of them (aside from Elite) again. - Dishonest hiring process. This comment is related to the hiring manager at the time, the CMO, not the recruitment team. The role (and the manager) I was presented in my interview process did not align with what was expected of me once I hired on. I am also not the only person who had this same experience, and I'm sure I won't be the last. The CMO has since left, but I anticipate Marketing leadership will continue to bait and switch other candidates in the future. The saddest part is that when I shared my experience in my exit interview, I was told that none of this was new to the HR team ... yet nothing has been done. I could go on for pages, but I'll leave it here. I genuinely believe everyone looking for a new role deserves better than ON24.

Cons

Really have nothing negative to say about this role, at most the onboarding could be a bit more streamlined
