Pros
Your experience here is highly dependent on the store management. It is still frustrating to work here, but can be so much better if you have a good management team. - Flexible hours - Decent pay if you have skills required (technology/computer repair) - Looks good on a resume if you are in school (like myself) and are getting into the IT world Note: I left the company to take an internship in my career field.
Cons
Corporate is completely out of touch with the hot mess that is the retail division of the company. - Stores are falling apart and haven't been remodeled in years. My particular store was still using a 1MB/sec internet connection. It is 2018! - Payroll is limited and 3 employees running an entire store is not uncommon - AC and heat are extremely limited due to corporate cost cutting. Corporate then wonders why people do not want to shop at the stores! - Corporate frequently pushes programs that make no sense, and will be abandoned in 6 months time - Employees are pushed to sell customers services and subscriptions that they do not need - Corporate ignores store-level issues and will be completely unreachable a lot of the time. Emergency repairs and maintenance issues are apparently not a priority - You will be asked to do the job of 3-4 people for the pay of one - Frustratingly outdated computer system and registers. Expect to have impatient customers ask why your register is going kapoot for the third time during their transaction - Company is trying to refocus on services (Compucom acquisition) but puts no effort into trying to make the retail experience better and worthwhile. They then wonder why retail continues to slump lower and lower - High corporate and store turnover results in messy, bureaucratic processes and total lack of communication between teams Overall, total hot mess of a company. Did I mention they are BLEEDING cash? Stock has hit all time lows this year and the company is deep in debt from its decision to purchase Compucom.
