Pros

Office Depot is a great place to start for someone with no experience. For part-timers, as long as you know how to use the Associate System provided, it's easy to request time off and change your schedule. Within the four years I've been with this company, I've worked in three different locations (schooling and life has required me to move around a lot). There's absolutely no hassle when it comes to store-to-store transferring (especially with the Copy and Print Department!) This company also has a way of bringing the right people together! Of course, there is someone you probably won't agree with, but you quickly become part of the Office Depot family with a great majority of your co-workers.

Cons

For a department that supposedly makes up most of the profit in the company, the Copy and Print Depot is the most under-appreciated. This may be biased, but this department deals with the worst of the customers that visit the store and we are not supported as much as we should be. No matter how well you follow the policies set in place, once a customer threatens a lawsuit, Office Depot will do anything to please that customer. It's disappointing, but it's to be expected from a large corporate company. For ethical reasons, I will be resigning soon.

Pros

There are no pros to working for this company.

Cons

Low pay, grueling hours, unsafe and toxic work environment. The company does not offer opportunities for its sore employees to advance to the corporate sector; especially if you have a college degree. As a store employee neither you, your expertise and skill set, nor your ideas on how to improve workflow and company culture matter.
