A good place for front-line management who want to still have lives outside of work. - Department Manager Office Depot Employee Review

Pros

Office Depot respects a person's need to have a life outside of work, even if you are a manager. A five day workweek, with overtime after 40 hours is a rare thing for managers these days. Even the assistant managers work about 45 hours and get two days off (at least in my state).

Cons

It's retail, and of course that means inconvenient hours, especially for those with families. Other than that it's not all that different from other retail jobs. Also, if you work in the technology retail world expect a big push to become sales oriented. This is certainly true today.

Pros

There are no pros to working for this company.

Cons

Low pay, grueling hours, unsafe and toxic work environment. The company does not offer opportunities for its sore employees to advance to the corporate sector; especially if you have a college degree. As a store employee neither you, your expertise and skill set, nor your ideas on how to improve workflow and company culture matter.
