Pros
Most of the people I've worked with, especially the students, are incredible people. They're driven, gritty, and encouraging. There are a lot of opportunities to be involved outside of your job/office if you want to - faculty senate and the women's caucus are great places to make friends and make a difference. I will say it's really going to be good or bad as you make it, but if you choose to make connections outside of your silo, the school spirit is amazing, whether you got your degree from here or not. The benefits are pretty good too - the tuition assistance is a nice perk if you're looking to further your own education.
Cons
As is common in higher ed, salaries trend low and you could make more outside of higher ed with the same or similar job. There is a disconnect between the administration and the classified/lower level staff. For a place that is really good at embracing diversity, this disparity is particularly odd. It also is challenging to grow your career (and salary!) here unless you leave to get more experience and come back at a higher level.
