Pros

People are nice. Decent health benefits.

Cons

In the U.S, OpenText strongly prefers to recruit and hire RVPs, Sales Directors, Channel Sales Managers, Services Sales RVPs, and other sales leadership from outside of the company. This is a HUGE issue and an ongoing disappointment year after year as I consistently see sales leadership being recruited from outside the firm. The executive claim to have some sort of career path, but it is not enforced at the mid-management level. The VPs continue to look outside of the company for sales leadership rolls. Why doesn't the company recruit from within???! Also, there are very few raises. Company sells in silos. No real incentive to work together with sales peers on cross-selling. Increased micro-management.

Pros

While they claim to be "pro-employee" they are very much pro-Canadian employee. As long as you are a Canadian, your job should be safe. And US based role is in jeopardy.

Cons

Laying off all Americans. I do not see relevant data on location based statistics for the last 4 rounds of layoffs. The bulk of the "trimming" has been based in US. This is cost savings. Additionally, they post US based jobs for 24 hours then pull those and post H1B notifications that they could not find equivalent US resources and need to outsource for cheaper money.
