Pros

Met three or four genuinely nice people in the job. Dull work but easy enough I suppose. Quite flexible with time off if needed.

Cons

Mostly clueless management and "senior" management who waffle on and on and promise everything but deliver nothing. Laughable onboarding, training and mentorship provided yet they expect you to become an expert on the product. Like building a house with no foundations. Team growth stunted by in-team knowledge hoarding and incompetent and robot-like managers who are more of an obstacle to avoid than genuine leaders you could go to. Honestly I've seen washing machines with more independent thought. Chaotic "whats going on?" type atmosphere. No direction or leadership within team. Pointless meetings with management - Lots of repetitive talk about changes and improvements but ultimately nothing changed. Zero team culture and no communication between team. Zero sense of achieving anything. People continually leaving the company which is unsettling. Huge staff turnover. Dull muted atmosphere in office. Not really a team, just a group of people who happen to work on the same product. Extremely unprofessional level of communication from manager. Repetitive, dull and uninspiring work. General acceptance of mediocrity. Promotion seems to be based on how friendly you become with certain key company individuals. Cronyism if ever I seen it. Nothing improved in my time there. In fact it gradually got worse. A testament to the complete and utter failure of dire management. This is an ok job to have for a while until you find something better and believe me you will find something better. After a few months you'll realize its a stepping stone job that will pay the bills for a while and nothing more. If you're an ambitious hard working person looking to work in a dynamic environment and in a team with focused, creative management where your hard work and commitment is acknowledged, valued and rewarded then don't bother with this place. Its a joke.

Pros

You get a paycheck. Some of the people are nice but don’t trust anyone.

Cons

Exec leadership is awful. Always putting out the positive party line but it is all lies. Products are so far behind competitors. No investment in product or marketing. Senior executive leadership team shuffles around their “good old boy” comrades to new roles instead of retiring them or holding them accountable. The internal politics with everyone back stabbing each other to manage up and keep their jobs. Leadership is just doing what the board chair tells them to do. It is all about self promotion vs doing the job. They like to blame the previous CEO but he has been gone a year and it has only gotten worse. OpenText likes to brand itself as top company to work for , I say STAY AWAY!
