Pros

Good company bonus for managers

Cons

Employees are treated as numbers, with very little engagement from senior management. There is a noticeable lack of trust with upper management, evidenced by the excessive number of approvals required for even simple tasks requested by the CEO, suggesting a controlling leadership style. Management is ineffective, providing little strategic direction, and there is a constant focus on mergers and acquisitions and frequent business churn. Multiple rounds of redundancies are carried out, often poorly managed and with little regard for employees' well-being. The overall working environment feels uncomfortable and uneasy. Work-life balance is unacceptable, with unrealistic expectations for employees. The emphasis on "collaborative working" often translates into micromanagement, with employees simply expected to be present without meaningful contribution. Career growth opportunities are virtually nonexistent. Compensation is subpar when compared to industry standards. Overall, I would not recommend this company to anyone. Employees are regularly made redundant, even high performers, for unclear reasons. The work atmosphere is tense, with frequent corporate backstabbing and power struggles. Upper management lacks technical expertise, and most of the best talent has already left.

Pros

You get a paycheck. Some of the people are nice but don’t trust anyone.

Cons

Exec leadership is awful. Always putting out the positive party line but it is all lies. Products are so far behind competitors. No investment in product or marketing. Senior executive leadership team shuffles around their “good old boy” comrades to new roles instead of retiring them or holding them accountable. The internal politics with everyone back stabbing each other to manage up and keep their jobs. Leadership is just doing what the board chair tells them to do. It is all about self promotion vs doing the job. They like to blame the previous CEO but he has been gone a year and it has only gotten worse. OpenText likes to brand itself as top company to work for , I say STAY AWAY!
