Cons
As one of the most tenured members who has worked with a few Optum businesses, I can objectively say that Genoa Telepsychiatry (which is within Optum) is by far the most disappointing unit I've worked with and it's steeply deteriorating in terms of leadership quality, company culture, and competitive advantage. Never in my experience have I seen such a high employee turnover rate and leadership is doing nothing to address/improve the situation. They practice a culture to promote based on duration with the company, not merits or actual performance. Despite boasting itself as a remote-first mental health company, some of the team is forcing people back to the office; those who raise their concerns are being silenced and even retaliated against. This is no longer a friendly and flexible workplace it once was and it looks like it will only continue going downhill with leaders who can neither manage nor listen to employees.
