Pros

Great company if you really like to work overtime to meet deadlines that the company can't figure out how to schedule properly. This is also a great company to work for if you don't want to advance in your career anytime soon.

Cons

Turn over is high on the shop floor. You will most likely be underpaid and overworked. 50 work weeks are common for hourly workers. They say they don't work weekends but that is a lie. During the summer don't expect to have a two day weekends every week if you work on the shop floor. If you are salary they still expect you to put in extra hours without extra paid or compensation for those extra hours. Morale is constantly low in every department and instead of trying to fix it the higher management will be too busy trying to make themselves look good instead of making the company better.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We’re sorry to hear that Ore Designs was not the right long-term fit for you. Ore is a growing manufacturing and fabrication company, and our work can be deadline-driven, seasonal, and demanding at times. We make every effort to plan responsibly, communicate schedule needs in advance, and balance customer commitments with the well-being of our team. We also work to provide competitive pay, meaningful work, and opportunities for employees to learn and grow within the company. As with any growing organization, we continue to evaluate where our systems, communication, staffing, and training can improve. While we may not agree with every characterization in this review, we do appreciate employee feedback and take it seriously. We remain committed to building a workplace where employees are treated respectfully, expectations are clear, and people have the opportunity to do good work and develop their skills. Pros

Their product was of the highest quality. I really felt passionate about facilitating green spaces in cities with the Ore product line. From the edging, fire pits, and water features the craftsmanship really showed the passion of the design, sales and manufacturing team. Shane is a great CEO and leader, he truly is deeply committed to providing a top tier product nationwide, working with the premier landscape architects in the country.

Cons

During my time there were 3 sales managers which created a lot of change but leadership always encouraged and open door policy to escalate concerns and opportunities for improvement.

Pros

HR people are nice. But they are the only ones leaving good reviews here!

Cons

Everything else! This place is a revolving door. Almost everyone hates working there, but they do because they have few options. Don't waste your time. The culture is toxic and it comes from the top. The owner is pompous and arrogant. Seriously, there are much better places to work. Read the reviews here (Not the ones from HR, LOL!) and save yourself a big headache. And benefits are terrible!

We’re sorry to hear that your experience at Ore was not a positive one. We appreciate your positive comment about HR, but we recognize that a strong workplace depends on leadership, communication, accountability, and trust across the entire company. Ore is actively working to strengthen those areas and improve the overall employee experience. To that point, Ore takes concerns about culture, leadership, turnover, benefits, and employee experience seriously. While we can't speak to every detail in an anonymous review, we do use this feedback to better understand where employees may feel unsupported and where we need to improve. And then we get to work making those improvements. So thank you for sharing your feedback. We appreciate the time you spent with Ore and wish you the best moving forward.
