Pros
While Osmose may not be for everyone and being a foreman is not the easiest job in the world, you certainly get out of it what you put into it. Even though the work and travel can be tough sometimes, I get to work independently, allowing me to be flexible with my schedule and I like the chance to make extra income for working hard and running my crew safely. I enjoy the physical nature of the work, being outdoors and working to accomplish my weekly goals and every day provides different scenery, challenges and terrain. I have been a foreman with Osmose for more than 6 years. Company provided health and medical benefits are great as well as the HR staff. Aside from the typical company provided benefits, Osmose offers an awesome 401K plan, foreman referral plan, company provided vehicle, travel per diem and employee recognition plans for safety and quality. I am very fortunate to have found Osmose when I did and my only regret is that I didn’t start with them sooner.
Cons
I work close to home for some of the year, but sometimes the work requires me to travel. The hotels are a lot nicer than they used to be so no complaints there, but being away from home during the week can be hard. I make it work because I like the job and the money and everyday is different.
