At Owl, we are proud of the amazing, cutting edge work that we do and are excited about where the company is going. Employees are always our focus, and we offer numerous remote opportunities to ensure our team can balance their work and home lives. Over the past year, we have made a number of changes to focus the business in respond to our customers. This change has been hard, and we have had to part with some great employees as well as a number of our management and C level team. These changes have had a positive impact on the business and we are on a strong growth path. We look forward to investing further in our teams to ensure the success of both our people and our customers.

Pros

Decent benefits Fun technology Interesting people

Cons

Dysfunctional Chaotic Disorganized Terrible communication Demoralizing Inefficient Ineffective Leadership appears near sighted by consistently sacrificing long term gains for short term profit. Always waiting until the last minute. Big sweatshop energy. An organization replete with ineptitude at the managerial level, and filled with shinning stars in engineering roles. Too many email/teams meeting job people, not enough people for real work. The company keeps adding layers of administrative work for everything. What used to take me 5-10 minutes, now takes 45 minutes of uphill beaurocracratic battles. Getting anything done around here is like scaling the cliffs of Pointe Du Hoc.

Pros

Above average benefits offering including a no cost to employee health insurance plan. Lots of great people. Interesting technology and industry/sector to be involved in, and it seems like Owl is really at the forefront of the tech.

Cons

Very poor communication style, rules keep changing and the employees are not updated on these changes creating havoc and chaos with normally simple tasks. Becoming more and more cutthroat and chaotic. Very clear pattern of 'hire new employee, let go of senior employee 6-12 months later". consider yourself warned. The raises have been very low past few years. Upper management does this thing where all year they tout how well the company is doing and how we are greatly exceeding our revenue goals, and then come Q4, all of a sudden we are short on those goals and the year isn't looking too hot. Seems to clearly be setting low expectations for raises and bonuses. Upper management wasn't always like this, but seems really interested in squeezing every employee for every last drop of profit.
