Pros
The people are great to work with and, as the company continues to grow and make positive changes, the work atmosphere will continue to improve (hopefully). The product offerings are continuously evolving and you will always be learning. If you like a challenge, this is a great role.
Cons
1. To lay it out simply: If you are a low performer at your current role in PFL, you will get promoted. If you are considered and expert in your role and are a top performer, you will NOT get promoted. I tried for 2.5 years to move into a different role, met all of the requirements asked of me and, until I put in my 2 weeks, there was never an opening for that role. As soon as I put my 2 weeks in, a position in the role I had been requesting magically opened. 2. PFL does not do a good job upholding their values. They state they are not a 'gossipy snake pit', however this company is in a small town and everyone knows everyone's business. Makes a toxic environment. 3. You will be underpaid. The salary in this role is barely enough to scrape by in this environment we are currently in. PFL also considers any internal move a 'lateral move' regardless of an increase of responsibility or higher up job title. It is their way of essentially continuing to underpay you. 4. The Livingston office is horrible. The working environment is a dark basement essentially with hardly any windows. The summers are freezing, the winters are boiling hot. Makes it uncomfortable to work 9 hours a day.
