Pros
The company has managed to hire really well at the corporate office in the director and senior director level. I think a lot of them would be really cool to work for someplace else.
Cons
Most of these reviews are talking about how messed up things are in the stores but dont worry the corporate office is even worse! Every decision has to run through the five executives who are only really in the office a day or two each week. The legal department lets work sit for months on end and hides behind being busy. The culture here is just terrible. I was lucky enough to not work on the same floor as the executives but i dreaded having to go upstairs for meetings. I'd say that the office is trapped in the 00's, but there were parts of the 00's that were actually cool. Dont even get me started on the pressure to wear PLS branded clothes in the office. Its bad enough you cant even wear jeans on fridays but how insecure do you have to be to basically require people to wear your logo on their shirts? No one likes doing it and everyone resents the senior leaders attempt to shame people into wearing the shirts. Fortunately the options for women suck even more (because, you know, why think about the female workers) and we dont get as much pressure to brand ourselves. All the best people are heading for the doors and Im sure there are more to follow. There are a few great directors who try to hold the compliance, marketing, product and finance teams together, but they dont smile or laugh like they used to and have started spending a lot more time behind closed doors. Im sure those leaders are on their way out too and when they leave the company's best shot and change will leave with them. Some of the people there are great and really cool to work with and i believe that the leaders actually mean well, but if you chose to work here after reading all these reviews then you cant be surprised when you learn what it really is. Im glad i got out and cant believe that i stayed as long as i did.
