Pros

I worked for POLARIS Labs LLC in Salt Lake City for several years. Corporate management was always fair, and all four owners I have a great deal of respect for. If you were reliable and a hard worker, it was recognized. The benefits were solid for a growing company. Solid match on 401k. Salt Lake City had a great staff of technicians and sample processors, that made high production high stress days doable. I really enjoyed the crew. All in all, POLARIS was a solid company where I enjoyed the majority of the staff, from the lab techs all the way up to the owners.

Cons

If you don't like production work, don't work at POLARIS, simple as that. Like all production environments, they are constantly looking to increase efficiency without sacrificing quality. At times it can be a tough balance. As a remote facility, there was not in house Human Resources, and sometimes tracking down simple HR info was a bit tedious. At times that could be a bit frustrating. In fairness it had improved by leaps and bounds by my last year there.

Pros

I have worked at a lot of different places over my time. When it was time to change, I came to work for POLARIS Laboratories. This company has been a breath of fresh air from all the past toxic places I have worked for. Some reviews may say not so nice things about the company, but coming from someone who has worked for some really BAD companies (including one where EVERYONE regretted accepting a job there and could not get out fast enough), POLARIS Laboratories definitely tries their best. Is any company perfect, no. However, POLARIS Laboratories does try their best to fix mistakes and actively work on making things better. Their continuous improvement program for example is one where anyone, regardless of how long they have been at the company or what position they are, can suggest an idea on how to make things better and is taken seriously. They also actively work to promote from within. Management works hard to help make things better, particularly when it comes to the company culture. While not everyone in the company may see Management on a daily basis, those that do or are aware of them, can tell that they work just as hard (sometimes even more) as the everyone else in the company. They actively try to find ways to bring a little fun and happiness to the workplace. Whether that be various company events, monthly meals or the company reward program (POLARIS Dollars, Employee of the Quarter and Employee of the Year), there is definitely ways to find a benefit to working for POLARIS Laboratories.

Cons

It is a growing company, so patience and understanding may be needed. While growing pains can happen, the long term benefits outweigh those pains.

Pros

Coworkers are nice. Free lunches every now and then but second shift would always get the leftovers.

Cons

Very toxic work environment. No work life balance. Lots of weekend work and overtime. Management doesn't care for its workers. They only care about pushing out numbers and work their technicians to burnout. Management works to get employees fired instead of working with them to do better. HR is tricked into believing management are the ones doing good by their employees when they are the ones causing the problems to begin with
