Pros

There used to be great company events but have been cut for costs sake. The people, for most part are great. Life long friends to be made. Good overtime is always available if you need it. I like that the ceo is active on social media, feel like he wants to at least appear like he cares.

Cons

Promises promotions but due to turnover of both hourly and salary those rarely pan out. Behavioral issues rarely get addressed, or it at least depends on who you are. I watch people screw around all day, while a few work their hardest, with no reprecussion to anyone. No one is actually held accountable for their production goals. We get our scorecards that make zero sense, with little direction of what we need to do to progress. Punctuality and schedules are nicities not requirements. They preach turn around time and less overtime but keep departments understaffed, filling them with temps who we train, only to retrain a new one next week, detracting from production. They preach lean, but have gone far left from that goal and get defensive when asked," is this the lean way?". Health insurance is ridiculous expensive. The levels program is a joke unless youre in DA. You have to basically hope someone quits or transfers if you're salary. But theyll make up a random title just for you if youre management! Management is disconnected from their teams never actually doing the job to see what it really takes to complete the task. No work/life balance.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, and I regret your experience has left you dissatisfied with your time at POLARIS Laboratories. Without hesitation, I truly understand and value our employees are our greatest asset. It is possible we did not adequately highlight all the opportunities for individual and corporate success, but they exist and they are real. We value our employees and listen to their feedback. If there are instances where we are not doing that, then I would like to know. We constantly look for opportunities for employees to help grow and expand their skill sets within the company. We also have a strong commitment to helping our employees grow, which includes more than 50 promotions granted to POLARIS employees since January 2015. By promoting employees from within, we are able to leverage past institutional knowledge, and we also have employees who are willing to transfer to different facilities for promotion. We remain completely transparent in all our efforts with our managers and employees. Sure, like all businesses, there are days when we do not meet our own expectations due to variance in the process. As an organization focused on continuous process implementation, we continue to work to remove this variation and improve what our service to our customers. This process does work and we have seen significant improvement in the turnaround time to the customer, while continuing to welcome new customers and greater volume from existing customers. Like all organizations, we take the feedback we receive seriously. We also make improvements based on the perceptions captured here. As a result, we have improved compensation, benefits and work environment for all our employees. This is an ongoing process, but we are pleased to see the progress in this area. I appreciate your continued interest in POLARIS Laboratories, and I welcome the opportunity to further discuss how we can support your career objectives and explain how our organization has positioned itself for the future.

Pros

Great coworkers and management. Free fruit to stay healthy. Work out facility on site. Free coffee and fountain beverages. Our supervisor and manager will always listen and consider our ideas for improvement.

Cons

Mandatory overtime in this department is extremely draining. Everyday is different depending on the volume from mail, UPS, FedEx, ect. It's difficult to have a work life balance. Compensation is not great for the amount of responsibilities we have.

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate your acknowledgment of all the progress made recently through the dedicated efforts and timely improvements to support and recognize the efforts of all our outstanding employees. These benefits continue to be a direct result of the feedback we receive from both our employees. We continue to be focused on creating a positive work environment for all our employees. This includes creating a challenging environment and providing rewarding opportunities and recognition. Employee retention has and will continue to be my top priority. I worry about all our employees, and I am talking with all our managers regularly about making sure we are creating an experience where both our employees and our company can succeed. We have many new objectives and processes to help ensure we retain our employees longer and bring more stability to our operations. What’s more, we continue to support and embrace our new levels program in several of our critical production departments that rewards employees for their excellent performance with promotions, including wage increases. We do have open positions which will reduce the overtime once filled. We do offer a referral bonus for referring successful candidates. I appreciate your insights about your experience at POLARIS Laboratories. If you would like to share more, please contact me anytime.
