Pros

- get experience - gain knowledge about mental health and the severity of it - learn how to document progress notes according to DMH standards - see clients grow

Cons

- management doesn't know how to communicate with staff - pay is low for the amount of work you do - they try to add more responsibilities (ex: housing) with no compensation for it - it doesn't seem like all departments are on the same page when it comes to client care (ex: housing and treatment team) - clients can become difficult, seems like you're babysitting them - seems like management only cares about the amount of hours you bill for per week and not necessarily client care

Pros

Great learning experiences, opportunities to network and develop professionally, ample training opportunities, competitive benefits for industry, and good 401k matching.

Cons

Unrealistic productivity expectations, processes, and policies are constantly changing, frequent driving, and poor mileage reimbursement rates. Some programs are misleading about role responsibilities during the interview process.
