Pros

I really enjoyed the Day Treatment program that I worked at. I thought that the PD at this site was a director. He was very invested in the children as well as in his staff. This was my first job after graduating college and he made it very fun to work here. He took a team approach, so during lunch team meetings you always knew what was going on in other milieus and gave everyone an opportunity to give "staff of the day" to recognize the work that staff did daily. I also really enjoyed the set up for this particular day treatment program, where there was one female staff and one male staff in each milieu. I also had a good supervisor who taught me a lot of interventions with the children. I would say that my positive experience at this place was largely due to having a good team of co workers at this place. I was very fortunate.

Cons

I liked working here but i would have to say that the pay is really low. The only way you can advance is if you obtain your masters which is why most of the counselors here will leave to continue their education.

Pros

Great learning experiences, opportunities to network and develop professionally, ample training opportunities, competitive benefits for industry, and good 401k matching.

Cons

Unrealistic productivity expectations, processes, and policies are constantly changing, frequent driving, and poor mileage reimbursement rates. Some programs are misleading about role responsibilities during the interview process.
