Pros
- The sales and marketing team just came off the best year in company history (2016) followed by the best quarter (Q1 2017) - These results are largely due to a solid strategic vision set in 2011 that is really starting to produce dividends - Web-based civic tech products delivered via the Amazon Web Services Cloud. The company has a great relationship with Amazon - Exciting projects! We're currently implementing the new licensing and enforcement system for Washington State's Liquor and Cannabis Board ... this means every bar, restaurant, gas station, marijuana farm, pot shop, winery, brewery, and grocery store will be using our software to interact and comply with the state . Very cool! - A lean tech company outside the congestion of Seattle. The Kitsap Peninsula is beautiful, while still a ferry ride away from the big city. - Healthcare - Health Savings Accounts. This being my first company to have a HSA, I love it.
Cons
Transparency & fiefdoms: I would put this as a minor con, as I think this problem is being stamped out by upper leadership. However - there are some old holdouts of this 20 year company that are slow to buy in to the new way of doing business, focused too much their own importance (vs. the team), and scared to give up control of their division. This manifests as keeping information closed to other divisions and/or obfuscating data. But again, I think this problem is being effectively dealt with. - No 401K matching at this time, although I've heard the company is looking to add this
