you can get experience here

Cons

if you do not network you will not be promoted. Shelter working is mandatory. If you must, bring your family to the shelter. Encouraged to take work home. Ageism abounds. Older than 35 need not apply. people with disabilities need not apply. People of color need not apply as they rarely get promoted. Males will be promoted first.

Pros

Excellent benefits through the county and paid time off. There is plenty of creative freedom when doing library programming and currently there are generous and cool opportunities for professional growth and outreach.

Cons

Upper management can be slow to acknolwedge/act on issues and make any substantial changes. Many figures in supervisory positions across the library system display incompetency and lack leadership skills.
