Pros

The New England team of makeup artists, counter managers, and regional mangers was supportive, creative, and fun. Dior has extensive training, multiple times per year. The perks were great- lots of expensive skincare and makeup- and it created excitement and enthusiasm for all the employees. My counter was located in Lord & Taylor, which is also generally a good company to work for. The base pay was great. They provide a 401(K) and health insurance (although it is still very expensive). The management and HR in Lord & Taylor was wonderful.

Cons

The Cons included a schedule that varied on a four week basis, meaning that it was not the same week to week or month to month. I was part time, but had difficulty finding another job because my hours were so complicated. This was a corporate rule at Lord & Taylor that the managers could not change, which had to do with limiting hours and benefits. The selling goals were often not in line with what the store traffic was producing, despite the efforts of counter managers to bring in new clientele. Ultimately, the Makeup Artist part-time position was eliminated in my store because of lack of business.
