Pros

Great starting pay, Great bonus structure for pawn and sales (it takes time to grow!), Great store managers, Great team work. Working here is not for everyone, it is challenging, product knowledge is essential, communication is essential, patience and problem solving skills. Open schedule is expected. Recognition is given to staff, raises and reviews. Promoting within is preferred! Learning this business is fun and full of career opportunities. My resume is built with the foundation of all of the skills I’ve learned from Pawn America. If you want a job to grow on this is the place, if you want a fun job with an open schedule this is the place, if you want to be part time or full time with a steady company making great money, enjoy some of the best benefit packages, PTO AND vacation time in the job market, this is the place.

Cons

Can be challenging for employees and family time. High performance expectations that many struggle to meet. Retail industry slow decline. Bonus structure for Assistant Coaches. The main program used is very old.

Pros

Work is easygoing at my location. Few customers who cause a commotion. Supervisors are supportive, but not always there for you as it seems like there is a lot on their plates. Opportunity for commission and bonuses.

Cons

I was scammed when I applied. They did not offer me an additional $2 for being bilingual. I applied for the jewelry sales position but that role basically doesn't exist. You are just a regular sales associate. The way the store is ran is disorganized and communication is not consistent. You will be standing all day. Commissions schedule is not clear. Barely any training while on the floor. You are thrown into the deep end immediately. Also the hours are really weird: You do 6, 7, 9, or 12 hour shifts - doesn't make sense. there is No break room. when i need a manager, i cant even leave the sales floor because there always has to be one sales associate on the floor
