Pros

generous salary, nice offices, good benefits, fun, young coworkers. Opportunity to meet and network with many C-level executives that can truly provide a lot of valuable knowledge to you as a young employee across many diverse industries.

Cons

Do not come to work in sales for Paycom if work/life balance is even #10 of your your top 10 requirements in a job. Minimal PTO, and taking it is discouraged. Making sales while on maternity leave/sick/on vacation is normal here, and if you do take it and don't sell during it, you'll miss quota for sure which of course is highly frowned upon. Hours are long, and promotions are hard to come by- although being in sales management for them requires even longer hours plus 3/4 days per week of travel... It's a great company with a great product and you really can make good money, but you must be prepared to work 60+ hours a week to find the success they expect out of you. Nobody really cares who you are unless you're blowing it out of the water week after week- seriously, if you made a crazy huge sale last week and have nothing this week, you're totally forgotten. Not a sustainable, long-term environment for most.

We are happy to share we recently increased PTO for employees. Paycom is very proud of all the amazing reps on the team that are able to manage with success both their home and professional lives and we support this continued success of our sales representatives. If there is an issue with management not allowing time off, we hope you addressed this in your exit interview. We agree that some of our sales reps work more than 40 hours a week as do most individuals who aspire to make over $100k per year. We also have individuals who are able to meet and exceed their quota working 40 hours per week as they grow in their knowledge base and build their pipelines. We encourage you to reach out to the HR team to share specifics around your observations, if you haven’t already done so. We appreciate your feedback and will share it with the management team.

Pros

- Base salary - PTO - Awesome colleagues - $1 Medical PPO offering

Cons

- Upper leadership seem to not value the operations department as much as they do with sales. They are not consistent as well, which causes them to change the entire department's job description, expectations, & commission structure every few months. Change is good but huge change every 3-4 months is so exhausting. - They overload you with too many clients to handle while increasing the number of internal calls. When asking for support from sales or middle management, its typically a hard negotiation or non-existent. Expect to work way over 40 hours/week and juggle 10-20+ clients at a time. - Sales will oversell on product & implementation expectation which makes the job 1000% harder. Turnover with sales is extremely high so don't expect for even the best reps stay as they either leave, get fired because quota was not met, or the new manager will cut them if they're "not the vibe". You get left with the newbies who does not know how to sell or support you when you need them. - Every role in this company has high turnover in general. Making it very hard to cross collaborate with other departments as everyone is either extremely swamped or new to the role and cannot support as well, - Being forced to go to Oklahoma for training every year, sometimes twice a year.
