Pros

- Hardworking, driven, motivated employees - Management that cares - Events like National Payroll Week (food trucks, games, races) - Benefits (401k, gym, employee stock purchase plan, etc) - Charity drives and opportunities to volunteer - $4 catered lunches and free monthly luncheons - Sense of community/family within the company In my opinion, the best thing about working at Paycom is the people you get to work with. I'm surrounded by so many genuinely amazing people every day- whether that is management, teammates, or employees in other departments. When you start first start here it's easy to get overwhelmed because there is a lot to learn. The company does a good job providing new hire trainings though, and with the way teams are set up, there is always SOMEONE around that can help answer any questions. Even though it’s a busy, fast-paced environment, it's fun learning to adapt and not walking into the thing every day. There are also a number of opportunities available for personal and professional growth (trainings, leadership programs, etc) for those that are interested in moving up within the company. Paycom is big on promoting from within, which is great because it means that management actually understands the needs of specialists because they’ve often been in their shoes.

Cons

Right now the biggest issue is growing pains. Growth isn’t a bad issue to have, but can have some negative effects while we adapt to all the changes. I've been here a little over a year and my department has doubled just in that time. We’re constantly adding new clients so it can be stressful keeping up with the workload, even with all of the new hires. Overtime is 100% normal in most departments, especially during year end.

Pros

- Base salary - PTO - Awesome colleagues - $1 Medical PPO offering

Cons

- Upper leadership seem to not value the operations department as much as they do with sales. They are not consistent as well, which causes them to change the entire department's job description, expectations, & commission structure every few months. Change is good but huge change every 3-4 months is so exhausting. - They overload you with too many clients to handle while increasing the number of internal calls. When asking for support from sales or middle management, its typically a hard negotiation or non-existent. Expect to work way over 40 hours/week and juggle 10-20+ clients at a time. - Sales will oversell on product & implementation expectation which makes the job 1000% harder. Turnover with sales is extremely high so don't expect for even the best reps stay as they either leave, get fired because quota was not met, or the new manager will cut them if they're "not the vibe". You get left with the newbies who does not know how to sell or support you when you need them. - Every role in this company has high turnover in general. Making it very hard to cross collaborate with other departments as everyone is either extremely swamped or new to the role and cannot support as well, - Being forced to go to Oklahoma for training every year, sometimes twice a year.
