Pros
Peak Performers is the kind of place you can truly feel proud to work. The mission, connecting people with disabilities to meaningful employment, is the heartbeat of the office, and we leverage each other’s unique talents to make it happen. Since joining, I’ve grown tremendously both professionally and personally because I’m consistently encouraged to learn, teach, and explore.
Transparency is huge here. Leadership doesn't shy away from difficult conversations or tough decisions. Because they hold themselves to a high standard of accountability, they expect the same from you. You should be prepared to "defend" your decisions and actions, not in a way that makes you feel defensive, but because we are a fast-moving nonprofit with a limited budget. My research has real, immediate consequences, so being able to back-up my work is essential to our success.
Cons
As with many mission-driven nonprofits, budget constraints can impact annual raises. It would be helpful to have more transparency during the onboarding process regarding the timeline for performance evaluations and salary growth, as I didn't get a clear picture of this until I was already in the role (I also didn't ask). Pay is at a fair market value for myself and from what I can gather of others too.
