Pros

- Perficient interacts with a quite a few different technologies, so there's plenty of room for movement and/or expanding horizons. - FTO (Flexible Time Off) means that there is no need to worry about accruals, and time off can simply be scheduled as needed/wanted (within reason). -Supportive of career development and willing to pay for certifications/training (within reason). -Many different wonderful and talented people work at Perficient, and there are many opportunities to learn from the people you work with.

Cons

- Favorable treatment is often based upon the team and projects an individual is a part of, and not necessarily on merit (despite Perficient often being touted as a meritocracy) - There is a heavy emphasis on billable hours, and context is not always considered. Scenarios such as not having enough work to fill allocated hours or having project level blockers to the designated work end up reflecting negatively upon the individual, even if it is out of their control. -Career progression is impacted heavily by the favoritism mentioned above. While it doesn't stop progression, it can often slow the process down and result in unfavorable compensation/recognition of an individual's work. -Work life balance can be almost non-existent depending upon the projects assigned. It's definitely possible to be overallocated to the point of 50/60 hour work weeks, although the person in charge of the team should be working to avoid/relieve that. But expectations and respect of work life balance very from project to project and team to team. And it can be especially difficult as projects coordinate with team members and clients from various places around the globe.

Pros

Very little outside of some of the people you work with. FTO is only nice if you have a manager who lets you use it. They did allow work from home, not sure if that is still the case.

Cons

This company was run poorly by Tom Hogan before private equity bought it but the buyout accelerated their decline. If you want to be a cog in the machine, this is the place for you. The leadership is only focused on themselves. They will praise you or throw you under the bus depending on how they feel it makes them look to their bosses. The employees who don’t have a stable long term project live in fear of being let go irregardless of talent and many of their most talented are leaving because they see the writing on the wall.
