This is the second mass lay off they have had in a year. They already had a small staff and they decided to lay off over half of their employees. People who worked super hard. They allowed unlimited overtime and quite actually made sure over time was filled and paid time and a half. But then have the audacity to blame their issues in the customer service team when the real issue is a C suite that gives away products to customers for free daily and allows customers to demand for coupons on their orders and we just had to do it or our jobs for be on the line. Quite literally the CEO told us to do whatever we need to to keep the customers happy, any discounts, any free products and said that if we refused we could loose our job. So of course we did what the CEO asked because she’s running the company right and should know best? Wrong. So they let a bunch of people go because they have lost 400 million dollars and have multiple law suits because they do deceptive marketing. One day they put out a coupon that allowed customers to get products for pennies on the dollar which flooded our website and caused a huge backlog in orders. The marketing team seems incompetent. I don’t think their job is hard but they failed all the time with coupons and making sure the details were on the coupons. Customers would complain all the time and rightly so because they are deceptive and the customer service team had to deal with it. Then they recently hired a bunch of people because they were “in a growing phase” which was said in a town hall. And three months later they are laying everyone off that they hired in their “growing phase” say that they are needing to cut back because their stock price has went down. Like come on. How out of touch is the C suite. I’m so disappointed with this company. It has so much potential but they keep ruining it. Chewy will absolutely take over this industry and I’m sure PetMeds is going to go bankrupt the way they are running things now.
