Pros
The flexible work hours and focus on health and well being is good. The company is trying to match best in class companies with the global transformation and seems to be moving in the right direction.
Cons
Change is the only constant here - there is never a time is which some existing process, strategy or system is not being changed/implemented. The transformation is due to continue for another 5-7 years and for the existing employees, seeing constant layoffs and organizational changes is tiring and cumbersome. All the talk about work-life balance can be often just hogwash. Thirdly, although the company has some good policies in place, how well they are implemented depends on the local managers, who, while being competent at getting work done, can be just plain incompetent at managing people. The remuneration is not at par with the companies that Philips is trying to emulate/compete with. Dutch employees are preferred for management positions vis-a-vis other nationalities.
