Pros

- As the Headline says, there's always new things to work on at Photomath. Though most of the company is based in Zagrab, Croatia, there is a group of employees that is based out of the Bay Area, and this part of the company feels very start-upish (which I love) - I really feel like my work is making an impact on the product that we're giving to our end-users - Everyone is an absolute pleasure to work with. I've been here for over a year and have not once had any sort of work-place passive-aggresiveness that one can encounter - Their vacation policy is very generous, and you can tell that management really does want people to use it, since it's apparent in all facets of the company that people here appreciate a good work-life balance

Cons

- As mentioned before, a lot of the company is based in Croatia, so depending on the role you're in, you might have to take several meetings per week with other employees with a 9-hour time difference, which can give you either early morning or late-night meetings

Pros

Photomath is a global EdTech company headquartered in the United States but with a larger presence in Croatia. The two cultures meld well together in the relational side of the Croatian associates and the productivity-focused US team strikes a good balance for a start-up company. The workload seems fairly distributed for most teams though may differ depending on team. There definitely seems to be a lot more time and patience for exploration and creativity at this company compared to the stigma of tech companies.

Cons

As much as there are huge positives to working for a multicultural organization, I don't think there is enough emphasis put on how to communicate effectively accordingly. I think more effort should be placed on how to conduct productive and pleasant cross-cultural meetings.

Pros

- Curious group of folks interested in hearing and thinking in a different lens. Questions are framed to learn, understand and unearth potential blind spots or biases. - Even the super busy leaders will take the time to onboard and make new comers (from other teams) feel welcome and included. The collaboration between countries is tough, but everyone is always more than happy to stay late or wake up early to get that face time. - Since day 1, learning & development is emphasized. I've been told to think about potential resources I may want or need to upskill, develop and growth myself professionally. - Generous time off and actually encouraged to take it. European team has a healthy work life balance and that culture is reflected in US too. - Smart, kind, highly motivated team mates that motivate you to want to keep learning & growing

Cons

- Depending on your team and role, there are lots of early morning calls (or late evening). - With the robust feedback culture & time zone challenges, there sometimes is a lot of back and forth in shared docs where it's easy to misinterpret the tone/intention)
