Pros
Their are no Pros I can think of unfortunately.
Cons
Points of major concern: pay, benefits, management, culture, values. The hourly pay for nurses is very low; not that much more than a medical assistant. It's a slap in the face to the nurses/medical assistants/nonclinical employees that work so very hard, when administration/management have consistently been awarded yearly, annual raises and bonuses and the nurses/nonclinical employees(hourly wage) have received nothing that I know of for the last 5 to 7 years including me. Wait, some nurses did get a 10 cent raise one year....but that's not even enough to buy a candy bar! During hurricane IRMA administration/management (salary workers) got paid when PRMC had to close. PRMC policy is that hourly workers have to have 60 hours sick time accrued before they can access any of their sick time. Sick time accrual is much less per pay period, so its very tough to accrue enough sick time. As a result, whenever an employee calls in sick whether its for a family member or them, with less than 60 hours accrued PRMG pay you from your vacation time; which leaves you short for vacation paid time off. A lot of nurses and other non clinical employees did not get paid during hurricane IRMA. This was general concensus across the board from what nurses have said. another area hospital made special consideration to help out their employees and paid all their employees during IRMA; salary and hourly workers. Concerning benefits: benefit package offered is poor to say the least. Coupled with low pay , high premiums, high deductibles and high yearly maximum out-of -pocket costs makes it extremely difficult to seek medical treatment when needed. Ive had much better benefit packages with other companies. With regards to management, culture and values; the doctors are treated poorly; promises made when contracts are signed with doctors soon discovering promises are broken....and hearing doctors say, "What did I get myself into? This place is utter chaos! How can I work like this?" Doctors are asked to take a pay cut because they are not making enough money for the clinic and some doctors have been pressured/strong-armed by upper level management and clinic managers to "GREET- TREAT and STREET". (office visit is to be no more than 15 minutes per patient.) some doctors were verbally humiliated and treated with disrespect by management. Doctors are not getting support from management or administration. They manage with NO CLINICAL background or experience and have created a hostile working environment and clinic chaos. nurses and front office staff have been told to "shut up and do what you are told!" Nurses are so scared of retaliation if anything gets reported to HR. There were several/many in fact, nurses that did complain to HR regarding the hostile working environment. NOTHING GOT DONE! If a nurse offered an opinion or suggestion they were told that they had a bad attitude and to "shut up". A medical assistant was told to "shut up" and verbally belittled during a meeting and several other upper level employees were present/ wittnessed this and did not report it to HR. When it finally did get reported to HR; she was retaliated against. Nursing staff are treated poorly with low pay, heavy work loads and no support. Nurses work severely understaffed . nursing staff are told to cut corners to work faster when rooming patients. What nurse can afford to invest their career or risk their nursing license working for a clinic so poorly run by people with no clinical background? Goodbye physicians regional! Hopefully you will get sold and fire the current management and administration.
