Pros

This company gives their employees a lot of opportunities for advancement. The wage they pay tends to be slightly higher than minimum wage in most locations and the pay is weekly which is helpful to some people. The work requires basic customer service skills for most positions. It is fairly easy to get a job with this company at the store level.

Cons

This company has a very high turnover rate and for good reason. Although the work isn't terribly hard the store is usually understaffed either due to call-ins, no-shows, labor hour restrictions, and other factors that cause those who are working to take on much more responsibility than they are paid for. Communication at the store level can be lacking at times. Because there isn't a lot that would prevent someone with a criminal history to work for the company there are a lot of employees who lack work ethic which makes it harder for those who actually try to do their jobs to the best of their capabilities. Unless you want to be a GM of your own store one day or get into corporate do not look at this job as a career. It is great for basic income, but most of the store level promotions you can get do not pay enough to be worth it. Think being a restaurant general manager with all the responsibilities without any of the perks like partners in profit, full control of your department, or even the actual title of RGM as management does not want to pay you salary for the title and workload, and instead, want to keep you at almost the same hourly rate as a new hire.

Pros

Pay is decent for Knoxville Benefits are good Coworkers are the only thing holding this place together

Cons

The culture has taken a nosedive. The new CFO sets the tone, and that tone is basically “I don’t care.” That attitude trickles down through leadership and it shows in every decision being made. The return‑to‑office mandate is a perfect example. It’s not about productivity — it’s about control. People with long commutes are burning hours of their lives just to sit in the office on Zoom calls they used to take from home. Morale is the lowest it has ever been. Entire teams have been gutted because people are quitting faster than they can be replaced. The workload dumped on whoever stays is unsustainable. Communication from leadership is cold, dismissive, and out of touch. Feedback goes nowhere. Concerns are brushed off. Decisions are made with zero regard for how they impact employees. Constant reorganizations create chaos. Roles change overnight, expectations shift constantly, and employees are expected to absorb more and more with no support. The company used to feel people‑focused. Now it feels like a machine that’s grinding down the very people who keep it running.
