Pros
Store-level team members are usually good co-workers. Anything above store level is political and VERY shady. They will tell new people about the "opportunities" to get them in the door, then move on (to try to bring in more new people). You have one chance to get the deal done -BEFORE you join the company.
Cons
I was there for over 10 years. We went through 11 store managers. They told me what I already knew. Years of facts, statements, and shady politics from those above the store level mgmt leave a bitter taste of resentment. I've seen recpts from the register that showed incorrect change due (fortunately I caught it first), loyalty rewards due to customers that were not being given, and "software issues" that prevented EARNED vacation hrs from being credited/issued properly (year after year). -Also: anything for a dollar. The company made approximately $400 million and our store was a valuable contributor to that (believe me!), yet they had a lot truck that didn't run, a golf cart that didn't run, and a hand-push trash cart with a broken wheel. All of which was "not in the budget" to get fixed. The jobs at a truck stop are hard enough, but this company is a "dollars-only" mentality (slogans notwithstanding). All this is "my opinion" only, but it did not change much over 10 years. -Also the HQ was raided by the FBI and some at the corp office were prosecuted for trying to cheat customers out of their contracted fuel rebates, but the slogan on the wall poster says something about integrity, so...
