Pros

If you have a good boss, your lucky. It can make or break your time there. You get two 10 minute breaks and a 30 minute break. As maintenance you can move all around your facilities, not stuck behind a register. You meet lots of interesting people and have quite a few regulars that will end up stopping in and scoring the store high just because of you. A good shift usually feels really good. Pay is weekly... Discount on the subway, if thats your thing It was a job when I needed one Get the schedule nobody wants and youll never have to change it Sometimes youll get tips for cleaning showers if you're lucky Holiday pay...

Cons

Oh boy this is going to be a list. Lets start with crazy expectations with very little staffing. They want 100% scores on everything with very little teamwork due to staffing stretched thin. Very busy facilities, with little regard to rush planning if any. Management has no remorse for anyone under them, they speak to employees as if they were children, even if they were there for years or longer than them! If the facility is staffed well, everyone stands around and talks while maintenance is called on the radio for every single task. Some team members work well together, however the team generally hate each other and dont want to work together. It is only made worse by management forcing everyone to stab each other in the back. At times it seems there is a corporate visit every week. Youre made to rush and fix up the place only for your bosses boss to walk around for 10 minutes and then leave, or go into the office. Good luck getting a raise, other than your annual 3%. Very strict on overtime. They dont want to pay their workers. 70 hour work weeks only happen when someone is injured and they dont have enough people to spread the hours, and they never have enough people. Tasks are mundane, youll be cleaning the same places over and over day after day. Management does not help. You are on your own, but those numbers are your responsibility. It was a regular occurrence that management would speak ill of team members around other team members. Creating a very hostile atmosphere. Theres a double standard that clearly shows when the employees are treated poorly such as being told they will be paying for broken equipment, but the management has no problem when the corporate level maintenance breaks store merchandise due to lazyness. In the summer the police are on the lot every night dealing with someone. Its a dangerous job. People from all walks of life disrespect you everyday and your told to take it and like it. Management does not have your back. They tell you to do something, like call the cops, then walk back their statements later. If management doesnt like you they will use the anonymous hotline on you if they cant find a way to get rid of you You will have to make questionable decisions on what you feel comfortable with at work It feels very corporate, hostile most of the time. If your store is doing bad, it almost feels as if the management starts trying to harass out the long term employees so they can hire in a body at minimum wage. I watched newbies break down and cry on their first day due to terrible customers and management telling them to "deal with it" Critical thinking and plans or ideas are not listened to or valued. They want bodies in positions, thats it. Prepare to bag ice by hand in the summer, sometimes upwards of 100 a night. All while handling 50 showers and handling 40+ trashcans multiple times through the shift. Pump issues are constant. And they want the pumps cleaned everyday. Restrooms are trashed every two minutes due to people washing feet in the sink, diarrhea in the urinals, stuffing tp in the corners, water bottles everywhere. At no point are you allowed to be frustrated about this. Good employees are worked hard, lazy employees are coddled. Good employees have to pick up the workload while maintaining there scores in an impossible balancing act. Good employees usually end up leaving shortly after being hired honestly and alot of smart applicants stay away. I was told by management that we didnt even get applications for maintenance for years. Minimal PPE provided. Social distancing is not enforced. Customer base doesnt care about your safety or their own. Everything feels frustrating. No fulfillment. No help either. Be on guard there is no low from management including low-key blackmail to get their way. Manipulation is the name of the game and they are very good at it. They work together to get you. Going above and beyond is not recognized nor rewarded. It makes you not want to. If your store is performing badly the only time your rewarded is when you hit a score goal at which point a small bribery is offered to you in the form of a gift card or maybe they buy you a cheap dinner. Which isint to bad I suppose but it just feels hollow.

Pros

Pay is decent for Knoxville Benefits are good Coworkers are the only thing holding this place together

Cons

The culture has taken a nosedive. The new CFO sets the tone, and that tone is basically “I don’t care.” That attitude trickles down through leadership and it shows in every decision being made. The return‑to‑office mandate is a perfect example. It’s not about productivity — it’s about control. People with long commutes are burning hours of their lives just to sit in the office on Zoom calls they used to take from home. Morale is the lowest it has ever been. Entire teams have been gutted because people are quitting faster than they can be replaced. The workload dumped on whoever stays is unsustainable. Communication from leadership is cold, dismissive, and out of touch. Feedback goes nowhere. Concerns are brushed off. Decisions are made with zero regard for how they impact employees. Constant reorganizations create chaos. Roles change overnight, expectations shift constantly, and employees are expected to absorb more and more with no support. The company used to feel people‑focused. Now it feels like a machine that’s grinding down the very people who keep it running.
