Pros
There is a sense of community on campus and among the staff. The students are super passionate. The consortium allows for opportunities to connect with colleagues at different institutions in very close proximity. Active advocacy from Staff Council representation in shared governance. Solid benefits.
Cons
Lack of leadership or direction at the top of the organization, which has impacts on morale at every other level of the college. Difficulty of collaboration or cooperation between offices (but the culture of departmental silos seems to be changing, slowly). Institutional support for apartheid.
