Pros

My experience at Podium has been a wild ride! Over the past couple of years, I've had the pleasure of meeting some seriously talented and driven individuals. Let me tell you, the Support Team is the real heartbeat of the company.

Cons

Here's the thing: Podium's Utah headquarters seems to have them stuck in a time warp, lagging behind other startups by 5-7 years. If you're part of the BIPOC or LGBTQ+ community, I gotta be honest, Podium might not be the most welcoming or inclusive space for you. Take their paternity leave policy for example. They only recently bumped it up to a "generous" 2 weeks for any second or adoptive parent. Now, that's definitely an improvement from the measly 5 days they used to offer, but it still feels disrespectful to new parents, you know? Also, the "Brodium" stereotype runs pretty deep in their culture, and it shows in how they celebrate and recognize employees. Picture this: during Town Hall Meetings, they give out a "person of the month" award, but guess what? It's never gone to someone in the Customer Success/Support Department. That's a major oversight if you ask me, considering they're the ones who keep the customers happy and coming back for more. Sales may bring them in, but it's a team effort to keep them around. Overall, if you're all about that stereotypical white, sales focused tech culture, then Podium is for you. Personally I'd recommend checking out other companies first. There are definitely better options out there that might align more depending what you're looking for.

Pros

Cool office building, learn from some of the best sales reps you’ll come across in your career

Cons

I worked at podium for a few years. It was the most toxic sales culture I’ve ever experienced. I do not say that lightly It was worth the money a year/two plus ago. They raised quotas multiple times in the last year and decreased the commission percentages. It is wild how many hoops an ae had to jump through to close a deal. In my 7+ of being in sales it was probably the hardest sale to close and I was a top rep. If you want to join podium it could be a good learning experience but it will come with a lot of headaches, anxiety about job security (they pip sales reps out like no other company I’ve ever worked for) and maybe some tears
