Pros

Ask yourself what you value in a company. If it's a workplace that seems to be a majority of cis men from the same educational background, perhaps predominantly the college/colleges, with similar values, this may be the place for you. Salaries are slightly above the somewhat abysmal floor for the area, which is in itself a pro, even though they're probably not high enough to meet industry standards. The company is growing rapidly. If this is something you value, including the possibility of long hours to help it grow, then this may be the company for you. If you want a "startup culture" without, in all likelihood the perks of any well-valued startup, then this may be the place for you.

Cons

No 401k matching as of the time of this employees departure. Medical plan and premiums paid by employees is average to below average in the opinion of this former employee. Salaries seemed to be well below the national average. The perspective of this former employee was that management were narcissistic and nepotistic. The perspective of this former employee was that management was transphobic. The perspective of this former employee was that the hiring manager for the engineering team had much more autonomy than was appropriate. The perspective of this former employee was that the company values loyalty in name over hard work or high quality results. The perspective of this former employee was that the direct management of technical teams was by a person with little to no prior management experience, in way over their head. The perspective of this former employee was that management would rather look good to the executives than improve the product or reduce liability. The perspective of this former employee was that the company will probably gain significant profits at the cost of thousands of hours of over-40-hour workweeks by exempt employees and the perspective of this former employee is that those doing that work, unless they be co-owners, will never receive any reward for this loyalty. If those are significant turnoffs, this former employee recommends that you consider working elsewhere. Keep in mind that these statements are the perspective of an individual, rather than statements of fact. The writer of this review could be mistaken about any or all of the above.

Pros

Great group of people to work with in engineering, great codebase to work in

Cons

Lots of product churn. There were a number of times where we would work very hard on a feature for multiple months where it would never leave a pilot phase if it ever even saw the light of day. Very disheartening to work on features like that. Also many many rounds of layoffs, in addition to lots of isolated layoffs for people who were still performing well in their role.
